Nunu's Kitchen - Lemon & Herb Hailibut

Food I make!
Lemon & Herb Baked Halibut

You will need:

  • 550g Halibut steak - washed and dried
  • 1/2 cup white wine of your choice;
  • 1 small bunch coriander - chopped finely;
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds;
  • 1 heaped tbsp crushed garlic;
  • 1 1/2 tbsp olive oil;
  • Salt & Pepper to taste;
  • Paprika;
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice;
  • Butter;
  • Seasoned breadcrumbs;

La methode:
  • Butter a shallow baking pan;
  • Salt, pepper and paprika both sides of the Halibut steak, and allow it to marinate for at least 1 hour;
  • Mix together the white wine, garlic, olive oil, chopped coriander and fennel seeds, set aside;
  • Pre-heat oven for 375 F on "Broil";
  • Pour wine marinade over fish, cover with foil and bake in oven for 10-15mins or until fish flakes easily when poked with a fork;

  • Remove fish from oven, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and bits of butter;
  • Turn oven temperature to 420 F;
  • Return fish, uncovered, to oven for a minute or so to melt the butter and to brown the breadcrumbs;
  • Serve accompanied with the wine marinade remaining in the pan and starch of your choice.

  1. Ooh mi gosh, it looks so yummy! Do you have Old Bay Seasoning in Hockeyland? It's a Maryland thing but I swear it makes your fish and seafood taste a whole lot better!

  2. Ooh! That looks good! I've never thought of using lemon and herb on fish. When it comes to fish, I usually just use salt/pepper and pan-fry. I hate frying fish..ugh, the oil splatters. I used to do cheat my way in college by marinating salmon beforehand with bottled teriyaki or lemon-pepper sauce from Lawry's and then bake it.

  3. I freaking love your food tuts! The halibut looks so moist and flaky...yum....

    *runs off to have lunch*

  4. OMIGAWDDD, I love this! Seriously wanna try it. Where did you fish this Halibut from Ms. Somalian Pirate?! :D Oh, you should do a food tut on your spicy noodle soup! :)

  5. The food looks so good. Thanks for the recipe!

  6. mmmm looks tasty ^^ thanks for following me btw :) :)

  7. I didn't know L'oreal bought TBS. When did this happen?

  8. Thank you so so much for the food tutorials!!! I've tried the cream sauce fusili and miso basa fillet because they're relatively quick to make, and I LOVE THEM. It's hard to cook a decent meal when I get home from work (6pm) and only have 3 hours before I head to bed again. Hope you can continue with these awesome quick and yummy food posts ^__^ love your blog

  9. Damn girl.

    Hey tell you what, I will come over and sew your curtains if you will cook fish for me :)

    Total deal man!!!!! I'll sew all the curtains you want! *I will do anything for foooooood*

    Hey btw thanks for saving me on Twitter the other day :)Lawrence went on afterwards and I got to be all smartypants and explain stuff to him because you taught me earlier ;)

    Oooo and your request has been fulfilled! Haha :D

  10. OKAY!

    When would you like me to come and sew?!?! HAHA :D

    I do love being a know it all, only because it happens so rarely for me! Lawrence is the know-it-all in the relationship so its nice that I'm able to throw it back in his face every now and then ;) He never believes I'm right though, and always needs to double check for himself. SO MEAN!

  11. That looks delicious! I'm very tempted to try making it! =D

  12. Wow that fish looks good! Btw, thanks for giving me your bf's product count. Though I think he'd appreciate more face wash lol. I mean you are nice enough to give him a facial cleansing!
